The Fixer-Upper – Second Floor

February 22, 2013 by Emily 7 Comments

As I look through my pictures of the upstairs, I think my pictures look vastly better than the house does in person. It’s not trashed, but it’s not nice either. AND it’s really, really dirty. Keep that in mind.

A couple of days of cleaning and painting and you’ll be good to go. Bi-fold doors are evil, by the way.

I really don’t like the bi-fold doors, but I don’t know if I can convince Dan to buy new ones. I don’t think he’ll agree with the expense. I’d like to put in regular doors, hollow, that snap into place. They have faux handles that you just pull or push to open or shut the door.

I am so pumped to see how you flip this house! Can’t wait…it’s going to be great! By the way, is the whole upper floor tile??

No, there’s peel and stick in the hallway, rolled out linoleum in the bathroom, and carpet in the bedrooms. We’ll probably keep the bathroom as is and carpet the rest.

I like the horizontal painting… whatever, the blue and the brown stripes. Is that brown? It looks brown… Can’t wait to see how it ends up! (Especially if we can come down and help…) 🙂

Hm, I think it might be black. I’m really not sure. I can’t tell from the picture, and my brain isn’t remembering. I can’t wait to get rolling on it either!

I also like the horizontal painting. I would like it better with a piece of wood trim like the dining room in this townhouse. Some day, I will have a place that I can fix the way I want to fix it. I can’t wait until you guys get this house and start fixing it up. You two have such good ideas and do so well on DIY projects. Can’t wait!
